Katie was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, the infamous suburb of Los Angeles. She began performing with a local theatre company at the age of eight and went on to work and tour with the company for over fourteen years.
Katie released her first studio album, an anthem-driven, girl power, pop album, in 2011 after meeting renowned music producer, Mark Vogel (Spectra Records). She became a regular in the LA music scene performing at iconic venues like The House of Blues (RIP HOB), Roxy and more.
In 2012, Katie and Air Supply front man, Graham Russell, formed a duo known as Of Eden after being introduced by a mutual friend. The pair released their first album in 2013 and toured the US stopping in major cities like Nashville, New York, Boston, Chicago and LA. Katie also returned to her musical theatre roots and co-composed a new musical adaptation of Treasure Island with Graham. The show ran off-Broadway in the summer of 2015 to rave reviews. Of Eden will be releasing their second album later this fall.
For the last couple of years, Katie has been writing for and collaborating with other artists continuing to work across all genres and has been featured on chart topping tracks in the US and internationally. In April of 2017, she won Best Original Song at the 8th Annual Indie Series Awards for her single I Can’t Make You Love Me featured in the award-winning web series #Adulting.
With a new, original song added to Katie’s catalog every day, there’s no shortage of what’s to come for this artist. You can find Katie playing live throughout Los Angeles weekly.
The Sycamore Showcase will showcase artists in LA (and those visiting :)) in a brand new light. While traveling to different cities in the country working on her own music, Katie began to see a void in the LA music scene. There were a million places to play, but it was near impossible to even get your foot in the door. For over a year, Katie looked for a way to create a for artists to play on and support one another. After a long search, she found a home to showcase artists and curate a new type of artistic community in LA, one that stands by fellow artists. The Sycamore Showcase will spotlight two artists followed, by a performance from Katie, each week. We encourage guests to stay for the entire show and support each artist performing that evening. We’ll have industry guests including managers, agents and producers attending on a regular basis and hope The Showcase will be a place for artists of all kinds to begin networking with one another. Come hang with us for some good food, good tunes and good times!
