Born and raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles, Katie began performing as a young child with a touring theatre company in Southern California under artistic director Alex H. Urban. She began working on staff with the company at fourteen, teaching and directing thousands of children and adults as well as doing over 250 performances over the fourteen years she was with the company. She went on to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) majoring in Musical Theatre and received her BFA from the New School, NY.
In 2009, Katie met and began working with renowned vocal coach and music producer Mark Vogel (Spectra Records, Full House, Jesse And The Rippers). Within a week of working together, she was in the studio recording new music for the CW. Katie went on to record her first self titled studio album with Mark later that year. An anthem driven, girl power pop album it quickly secured her spot in the LA music scene where she performed at iconic venues like the House of Blues and the Roxy.
In 2012, she formed the duo known as Of Eden with Graham Russell (Air Supply). The acoustic-driven pair released “Feel” in 2013 and toured the US stopping in Nashville, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, and Chicago. Katie came back to her theatre roots and the duo also composed a new, original musical that ran off-Broadway in the summer of 2014. Of Eden is now back in the studio producing new music set to be released summer 2017.
Katie has written for artists, DJs, and producers around the world and has been featured on chart topping tracks both here in the states and internationally. She was awarded for Best Original Song at the 8th annual indie Series Awards in April 2017 for her song “I Can’t Make You Love Me” which was featured in the award winning web series, “#Adulting”.
She is currently writing and recording new music as well as continuing her work writing for other artists.
